PiBoard – Ozk RP2040 Development Board (Introduction)

PiBoard is a compact development board developed by Ozk and based on the RP2040 microcontroller architecture. Designed to provide a reliable infrastructure for education, prototyping, and product development processes, PiBoard offers an effective solution for embedded systems projects with its low power consumption, high I/O flexibility, and rapid application development capabilities.

Thanks to the USB connection located on the board, both power supply and programming/communication can be performed over a single line. The modular pin layout allows for quick integration with different peripherals, while supporting a wide range of usage scenarios from prototype production to serial testing setups.

PiBoad RP2040 – Key Features

At the heart of the PiBoard is the RP2040, a microcontroller developed by Raspberry Pi that stands out for its high performance-to-cost ratio:

  • 2.0 mm in pin area
  • Dual-core ARM Cortex-M0+ processor architecture
  • Operating frequency up to 133 MHz
  • 264 KB SRAM internal memory
  • Support for storing and running programs via external QSPI Flash (depending on board design)
  • Rich set of peripherals: SPI, I²C, UART, PWM, ADC

Programmable I/O (PIO) architecture providing hardware-level flexibility, allowing the creation of custom protocols and time-critical interfaces

Infrastructure suitable for rapid development and debugging/communication scenarios via USB

Applications

PiBoard is an ideal platform for sensor applications, motor control prototypes, LED/animation systems, serial communication-based product interfaces, test/automation setups, and educational microcontroller projects.

Ozk aims to provide developers with a fast and stable starting point with PiBoard, and to shorten the path to product development in RP2040-based projects.
